Much, much improved after the last time these teams met. A cagey game, but a win none-the-less.

Team Sheet : Coby, EthanR, EthanT, Isaac, James, Lewis, Mason, Rui, Stanley, Thomas, Travis

With the Iguanas’ keeper still out of action, Mason and Sarah stepped into the fray once more on another windy, but sunny day.

Isaac, Travis, Coby, Lewis, Stanley, Thomas and Mason got the game underway, and started with good pressure onto the Tigers’ half.

Stanley was unfortunately inured inside the first five minutes, EthanT replacing him.

Mason was largely untroubled in the first ten minutes, saving a single shot on target.

Travis, Isaac, Thomas and Coby were replaced by a refreshed Stanley, EthanT, EthanR, Rui and James halfway through the first half.

Despite some good quality passing, James and Rui of particular note here, neither side were looking especially likely to score. Lewis placed a shot wide, and the closest effort of the half came from the Tigers, who hit the Iguanas’ cross bar just before the half came to an end.

Half time.

Mason, Coby, EthanT, Isaac, Thomas, Travis and Lewis resumed play, and within a couple of minutes of the restart Lewis found himself in space so took a long range shot on goal. Unfortunately for the Tigers the ball slipped through their keeper’s hands. A great start to the half for the Iguanas!

A few moments later, Thomas whipped a cross into the opposition penalty area. Lewis connected, the ball just going over the bar.

The Tigers then had a period of pressure, but weren’t able to convert this into trouble for our stand in keeper.

James, EthanR, Stanley and Rui came on for Coby, Isaac, Thomas and EthanT at the halfway point of the half. The game was quite cagey during this spell, with neither team able to make any sort of material breakthrough.

Thomas and EthanT were brought on to give some alternative shape in place of Lewis and Travis. But again, there was no room for a breakthrough. A corner from Stanley was hit by Thomas, but the Tigers’ keeper was alert to the trouble and saved the ball, not long before the final whistle went.

A much, much improved performance from the last time we played the Tigers, and a respectable result against a strong side.

Iguana of the Match : Travis – a battling performance with a good assist. Listened well and worked hard for the team.
