Dunmow Utd Dragons v Iguanas

It was a very windy match today and it was really boggy under feet. But none of this stopped the Iguanas getting their second victory of the season.

Starting we had Oliver in goal, Jake in defence, Lewis, Fearne-Dolly and Zach up front.

The dragons started quite strong with a couple of shots at goal, first a great clear from Jake and second a great save from Ollie. A corner for the dragons sees Zach get the ball and pass to Fearne, she shows some good ball control, passing to Lewis, a great attempt at goal, but it just went too wide.

Zach making some good tackles and Jake still strong in defence. A quick throw in from the dragons see the iguanas 1-0 down.

Fearne and Lewis off and Cole and Aurora come on.

Cole goes into defence and Jake moves up field. Positive passing between Cole and Jake sees Jakes first attempt at Goal but Dragons Goalkeeper saves it.

Cole and Aurora being pressured in defence and the dragons go for goal but it’s a brilliant save by Ollie. Jake and Zach off, Maddison and Ethan on.

A throw in from the Dragons and Aurora working hard to push them wide, avoiding goal. A helping hand from Maddison and the ball was ours again. We just couldn’t keep hold of the ball and despite pressure from Ethan and Maddison the Dragons bag another goal.

Not to be defeated the Iguanas make the other team work hard, making some great tackles and pushing them wide, and away from goal.

The second half has Oliver in goal, Zach, Fearne and Lewis up front with Cole in defence.

A positive start to the second half, some good passing and communication from the Iguanas. Zach takes a powerful corner and the ball finds its way into goal. Making the score 2-1.

Feeling pumped the team work together to keep the ball in the Dragons half. Giving Lewis another opportunity at goal, which goes wide.

A goal kick from the dragons, Cole making sure the ball doesn’t come into our half. He passed the ball to Zach who gets his second goal making it 2-2.

For the first time in this half dragons have a chance for goal but another great save from Ollie denies them of that.

Fearne and Lewis working well together, Cole comes out of defence and scores making it 2-3.

Cole and Fearne off, Ethan and Jake on. Zach, Lewis and Jake working well together passing to one another down the pitch and Lewis goes for goal and scores, making it 2-4.

Lewis and Zach off, Aurora and Maddison on. The Dragons are working hard to get another goal and they succeed making it 3-4.

The Iguanas are still pumped and making the dragons work in order to get the ball back. Ethan making them work pushing them wide and standing strong again in defence.

Jake and Maddison working well together, Jake gets the ball and gets a well deserved goal in the back of the net making the final score 3-5.

A fantastic game of football today from our team. They really worked well together to become the winners today!
