Braintree Blues v Scorpions

We were away today at John Ray Park, which was nearer than our home ground.
First 5 minutes were evenly matched end to end play. Braintree had the first shot which went wide of the goal. A great play from the scorpions Mason got the ball passed it wide to Jake B, Jake shooting and hitting the side netting.
Pressing well Jayden won the ball and fired an excellent shot Keeper getting a hand on to it but went over him and in to the goal 1.0 Scorpions.
Scorpions just losing the concentration conceded two quick goals 2.1 Braintree. Jake B continuously making great runs up the wing. Getting a shot blocked for a corner.
Braintree youth having a freekick on the edge of the box which was struck brilliantly but Tor was able to gets his hands to it great save, they were straight back at Tor and brilliant 1:1 save.
Braintree miss pass gave Jake B a chance for a shot and just wide. A run up the wing from Jayden resulted in a corner, Poyraz stepping up to take, cleared but Lucas on the edge of the area hit a fantastic shot hitting the post.
Conner on working up getting up and down, took a throw in down the line to Jake B who crossed the ball, no one to finish it.
Braintree could break quickly, they caught us off guard them having a shot but rebounded off Casper. 3.1 Braintree.
Jake B winning the ball going on a run going around few players shot out side the box top corner GOAL!! 3.2
Jake B then having another shot just past the post. Conner winning the ball passing it to Jayden, lovely turn by Jayden and again shooting just past the post. Not our day.
Fantastic effort in the middle of the park from Patrick and strong performances at the back from Casper, Poyraz, Lucas and George

Started second half Braintree had an early corner. Scooped in 4.2
Scorpions still pressing, Mason with the cross but Jake B could not quite get his foot on it, so close.
Some great passing from the scorpions great switch across the field from conner Poyraz sprinting up getting his foot to it, great save from the keeper, scorpion corner but straight to keeper, Braintree played it quickly down, and managed to catch us out, goal 5.2. Jake and Mason linking up well but Jake's shot saved by the keeper.
Some excellent saves from Tor keeping us in it. Scorpions still passing and playing balls through just not able to find the back of the net.
They scored 6.2
Jayden pressing the defender who miss passed to his keeper Jayden following managed to get a shot off but again just wide of the keeper.
Patrick winning some good tackles in the middle trying to play team mates in.
They kept pressing us having a shot from the box as no one closed them down resulted in another goal 7.2
Last minute boys getting tired, Braintree scored 8.2
The boys fought so hard and had great passages of play but unable to find the back of the net or close down quicker resulted in a heavy defeat today. Heads up boys and on to the next match, Well done all of them.
Man Of The Match- Casper- solid at the back and worked so hard to keep them out. Cleared one off the line and always determined to win the ball back.
