A tough match today in regards to opposition and weather conditions as the boys fought to a hard earned victory.

The whole match was a very tight affair with most of the play in the middle of the park in what was a very scrappy and fiesty encounter.

The first half was very even and it wasnt until the 14th minute that Archie had the first attempt of the match. Further shots from Jake B and Patrick didn't trouble the keeper and Tor was called upon to be brave and to gather the ball on a few occasions and did very well.

The second half was much the same. Too disjointed, players running into each others space, no awareness in regards the dangerous breaks from our opposition... The difference between the teams was a good run down the right from Mason and in consecutive weeks a nice angled drive found its way into the net and that was enough to give us the win.

There were some good battling performances today from the team and it wasn't through a lack of effort on anyone's part, but we need more structure in our shape and more players need to make passes to our own players rather than just passing to empty spaces or our opposition. We have stepped up in quality this year in the Dengie league and with much tougher tests to come it's important to keep passing the ball around and to not concede possession cheaply as we will be punished.

Let's continue to concentrate and work hard in training and we will be looking to see more of that training transition into matches going forward.

Our most productive player today. Kept the ball well and made some very nice runs. Chances were limited but his strength on the ball was invaluable today against physical opposition. Well done
