A fantastic team performance today saw the Scorpions cruise to victory in a very one sided match.

The boys started the match in confident mood with Poyraz making a great run through the Falcons defence to earn an early corner. The Scorpions continued to attack, and a great shot from Jake on the turn was brilliantly saved. Just moments later another Jake effort cannoned off the bar. Starting to think it was going to be another one of those days a speculative strike from around 20 yards from Poyraz found it's way into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

The Gallywood Falcons tried their best to counter but Poyraz and Tor both made important tackles to nullify any attacks from the opposition. George, Mason and Lucas were all carrying the ball forward really well , and a fantastic run from Tor past 3 Gallywood players earned the team another corner which unfortunately came to nothing. Gallywood then had a rare run through on goal, and with their striker one on one with Caspar, Poyraz made an amazing tackle to clear the ball from danger.

The Scorpions then found their shooting boots, with goals from Patrick, Mason and Jake making it 4-0. Another shot from our opponents just before half time brought out the save of the match from Caspar, diving low to his left to brilliantly deny them a consolation goal.

The second half was much of the same with the Scorpions having lots of opportunities and it wasn't long before we saw the best piece of play of the match. A throw in from Tor played Patrick in down the line, he carried the ball to the byline where he crossed for Caspar to make it 5-0. A lovely move. Just seconds later a power shot from distance from Caspar made it 6-0 and the Scorpions were flying.

Stand in Keeper Lucas didn't have too much to do between the posts in the second half, but when he was called into action he did very well. Further shots from Poyraz and Patrick were saved well , and some trademark runs from Jake through the Gallywood defence ended with his shots from distance being saved. (Get closer to the goal next time Jake!!!)

Gallywood got a late consolation they perhaps didn't deserve, an opportunist strike unfortunately finding it's way past Lucas in really tough conditions. The game ended as it started with the Scorpions pressing, and it was George that finished off the scoring with another finish low into the net.

A fantastic performance from everyone today in really horrible conditions. Well done boys, absolutely brilliant!!

Player of the Match - Poyraz. Started the scoring with an excellent strike and made some unbelievable tackles. Kept his shape really well and the Gallywood strikers didn't have much hope of getting past him today. A great performance, well done.
