SCORPIONS V WILVALE RANGERS WARRIORS

A game of missed opportunities today for the Scorpions in a tightly contested match.

The first half saw the Scorpions have the bulk of possession but both teams found it hard to find any clear cut opportunities. The best chance of the first half fell to Jake from the penalty spot after a clear handball in the area, but his shot, although struck well, was fired straight at the keeper. The Warriors had a late strike of their own only to be denied by a brilliant save from Caspar tipping over the bar.

The Scorpions continued to work really hard in freezing conditions and again limited their opponents to very few opportunities at the start of the second half, but an unfortunate Poyraz was unlucky to concede a penalty and the Warriors striker made no mistake from the spot to break the deadlock.

Patrick had a good effort rattle the post and Jake and George saw efforts fly past the post before 2 late Warriors goals gave our opponents a flattering 3-0 victory.

A really good effort from the team today in an entertaining match. Unlucky Scorpions.
