Match report

Scorpions V Wilvale Knights Poyraz ⚽️ Patrick ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
A fantastic team performance today and the best result of the season so far.
The first half started very brightly for the Scorpions. Jake made some good early runs and won a succession of corner kicks, and although nothing materialised from those corners the Scorpions continued to press. It wasn't long before our great play was rewarded. The ball coming high towards Poyraz just inside the Knights half, he controlled brilliantly on his chest and ran towards goal finishing very neatly into the corner.
Caspar was then called upon to make a rare save but was focused and ready even though there was little action at his end of the pitch. The Scorpions were especially impressive in their tracking back, Tor and Poyraz were exceptional at the back and made it extremely difficult for the Knights to attack with any purpose. It wasn't long before the Scorpions deservedly doubled their lead with Patrick running through the defence and firing home.
Late into the first half the Knights played a good ball through the Scorpions defence, but Poyraz was on hand to make a great tackle, stopping what would have bean a clear goal scoring opportunity.
With a few minutes left in the half, Patrick scored a great goal firing high into the left corner leaving the keeper with no chance. Jake then made a trademark run and got another shot off, but a smart save by the keeper denied him a goal. Just before the half time whistle Jake and Patrick combined well and Patrick scored again – a first half hat-trick! 4-0.
The second half continued in the same vain. Mason was running all over the pitch getting back to make tackles and Lucas made some good runs and excellent passes to keep the team on the attack. Jake worked his socks off and made some great runs, but the only thing lacking today was his finishing.
The game ended with another 2 goals from Patrick, capping off a great individual and team performance . Well done boys, you were all brilliant today!
Patrick – 5 goal hero. Although the whole team were great Patrick finished his chances. He was strong on the ball and the Knights really struggled to deal with him. Well done.
