SWF Panthers v Scorpions Patrick âš½ï¸
Anothing flattering scoreline for our opponents today.
It was a positive start from both teams looking to break and create early opportunities, but it was the SWF Panthers that took the lead after some sloppy Scorpions defensive play. The Scorpions replied quickly however, and a great solo run from Patrick was finished with an excellent shot from a tight angle.
As the game went on the Scorpions forgot their shape at times and were repeatedly punished for not having a player back defending. We were caught out on several occasions with simple through balls, and some nice finishing from our opponents saw the first half end 6-1.
The second half started far more positively with Lucas, Mason, George and Jake all battling hard. Patrick continued to try wiggle his way through the SWF Panthers defence and Poyraz made some fantastic tackles as we've come to expect. Inbetween some fine saves from Caspar, two set pieces (1 free kick and a penalty) made it 8 for the Panthers.
Some very good moments in the game to build from but overall a harsh lesson on the importance of keeping our shape and keeping players back. Unlucky Scorpions.
Man of the match - Patrick. Another great finish from our top scorer. Always a threat on the break and never stopped trying. Well done.
