A good start from Dragons

Jenson
Ryan
Joshua SB
A Saturday kick-off for the Dragons penultimate game of the season. Today's visitors were a Galleywood side who beat us 4-1 only a few weeks ago in the opposite fixture.
Fresh off a training session last night, working on one two's and moving the ball forward, the Dragons took that straight into the game from the off. Some neat early interchanges from back to front with passes flowing Jenson tucked the ball away from 6 yards for 1-0 after just 30 seconds! A great start and for the first time in a long time, the Dragons scored first! The early signs in the game had this start as one of the Dragons very best performances. The passing and moving all across the pitch were fantastic! Ryan and Logan combining and passing down the left, Jenson and Pearcey on the opposite side knocking the ball around beautifully, Angus and SB starting things off calmly from the back all looking very assured against a very good Galleywood side.
Pearcey's ball through fell to Jenson again inside the box whose shot hit the side netting this time! Galleywood were stunned at this point not in the game at all. Ryan working hard on the left driving down the wing, his cross found Logan whose shot was saved. A few seconds later it was much of the same from our Pitbull number 9, this time it was his chance to fire goalward, no mistake with the finish for 2-0! Nothing less than the Dragons deserved!
Everything continued the next few minutes, Roo sending the ball through for Logan whose trademark left footed effort was denied by the post this time! Harrison, todays only substitute available, was introduced to the action and continued the hard work his team mates had started.
A sucker punch, with just over 10 minutes to go in the first half, the Galleywood 7 fired a shot from near halfway, Roo agonisingly close with his fingertips couldn't quite reach to keep it out. 2-1. Galleywood began to grow as the Dragons high energy start was perhaps starting to take its toll. A big goal kick from Roo looked to have been handled by a Galleywood midfielder, Harrison picked up the ball and the freekick was awarded to the visitors instead, a lesson to always play to the whistle. The resulting freekick was pumped forward and turned in for 2-2. Maybe a little bit of head's slightly not being focused as a result of the freekick incident, Galleywood scored 2 quick well worked goals to suddenly be 2-4 in front as the half time whistle went.
Regroup at half time and a little head clearance done. Rehydrated and fresh minded for the second half, the Dragons have been in worse positions this season after all!
Second half the Dragons started like a train again, Pearcey now playing centrally drove them forward and Logan, Ryan and Harrison were finding space to attack. Shots from all angles were kept out by the replacement Galleywood goalkeeper!
The second half was tight with not much goal mouth action at either end. Harrison was fouled midway into the Galleywood half. Coaches conferred quickly and instructed Josh SB to take the kick and what a freekick it was! A strongly struck shot straight into the top left corner! Proper "top bins!" As the kids say! 3-4!
What a game for the neutral! End to end finish to the game but it was the visitors who struck a final blow into the Dragons comeback hopes! The game ended 3-5 and a very entertaining encounter came to a close.
