Harrison
This morning the Dragons faced a new unknown opponent expecting a tough game from other managers verdicts. They were met with by a host side who were very technically gifted and very pacey which was evident from the first minute. From the off the Dragons were on the back foot, pressed back seeking to keep the score even, surviving several attacks with Roo standing firm saving everything that came his way. A barrage of corners was cleared by Angus, SB and Pearcey as the Dragons battled to protect Roo.
A rare moment of attacking play for the Dragons with Logan driving forward and winning a freekick. Jenson swung the ball towards goal with an in swinging right foot, Ryan couldn't quite wrap his foot around it and found the side netting unfortunately.
Another attack for the hosts and a contentious break through, Roo, Angus, Jenson and SB all stopping claiming to ball had gone off for a goal kick but the referee unable to see allowed the goal to stand. 1-0.
Annoyed with the decision the Dragons mindset wasn't fully focused and a quick second goal followed on the half time whistle.
A regroup and reshuffle at half time. The hosts were good but the Dragons were harshly behind.
Second half continued the same pattern of play and the hosts extended their lead to 3-0. Like last week though the third goal seemed to stir some life into a Dragon fight back. The momentum shifted and the attacks began to flow, Harrison played through by Logan hitting the cross bar with his effort.
Zack winning the ball back for the Dragons set off Pearcey who played the ball through and this time Harrison made no mistake firing into the bottom left for 3-1. More attacks followed and corners from Jenson and Logan were cleared by the hosts and on the breakaway added a fourth.
Roo was made to work hard with 2 rapid saves to deny the Falcons more goals and was called upon again to make another strong save from the following corner!
Full time, a comeback not to be this week!
