Dragons lose out in tough struggle
Dragon's v Burnham Ramblers
Logan
Harrison
It was the Dragon's turn to host Burnham this time after an eventful away match against them before. The Dragon's hoping to get their revenge on a physical Burnham side. Unfortunately this did not quite go to plan.
Both teams started off the match well with both battling to get the ball forward. A Burnham free kick gave them an early chance but Roo made a brilliant save to keep the score 0-0. However, it didn't stay that way for long. A long throw in from Burnham over our defenders heads meets their player to put them in the lead. 0-1
With the Dragon's on the back foot it wasn't long before the equaliser came. A pass from Ryan made its way through to Logan who took his chance and made it 1-1 after the keeper fumbled the ball over the line.
Changes made saw fresh legs on the pitch. Unfortunately yet again it was Burnham that went in front. A ball over from their defence meets their number 8 who makes the score 1-2.
Brilliant defending from Gus and a calm collection of the ball from Roo stops Burnham extending their lead. A chance to put us back level with a free kick from Ryan just outside of the box goes wide.
Another long throw in from Burnham is finished in the back of the net. 1-3. Burnham again with another chance from a corner headed away by Sam. Not long after they make it 4. A great save from Roo is met on the rebound by Burnham who are able to finish it. 1-4 at the half time whistle.
The Dragon's start the second half off stronger with good play between Harrison and Logan. Logan's shot unfortunately taken on the wrong foot so he was not able to finish it. A corner gave us a further chance with Zach, Logan and Josh SB battling for the ball in the box but it was scooped up by their keeper.
Burnham again adding to the goals. Another fantastic save by Roo thwarted by the visitors as the ball trickled over the line to make it 5.
The Dragon's with more chances to pull a goal back but the ball is deflected over the bar. A corner for us is met by Zach but blocked by the keeper. Messy play down the other end gives Burnham another goal. 1-6
The Dragon's trailing behind but are determined not to give up. A superb corner from Jensen allows Harrison to give the Dragon's a well deserved second goal. More chances for us coming thick and fast but we cannot quite finish them. A fine pass from Logan to Harrison hits the post and a brilliant chance from Jensen skims just past the side of the goal.
The Dragon's ended the game strong but it was Burnham that again took home the reward with the score ending 2-6. A very physical side who rely on that to get the ball forward. A score line that should have been a lot closer.

Even though Roo was sporting an injury during the game he pulled off some fantastic saves. Well done Roo!
