A cold, wet morning saw the Dragon's host Silver End at the Dragon's Den in a game that was action packed for the full 50 minutes.
It was the Dragon's that started off strong with an early chance for Pearcy that fell just wide of the post. Good pressure from the Dragon's saw the Silver End keeper quick into action to deny Logan of an early goal. Their keeper again having to work hard to keep shots from Ryan out. Really good play from the Dragon's that would soon be rewarded.
A cross from Logan into the box to Jensen was passed through the Silver End defence to Ryan. Ryan calmly took his chance and deservedly opened the scoring taking the Dragon's into the lead.
Unfortunately our happiness was short lived when a ball from a Silver End throw in was met by their player who secured a fine finish to level the score. 1-1
Play continued back and fourth with both teams competing to take the lead. Brilliant defending from Gus and Sam saw the Dragon's maintain the score line.
The Dragon's had more chances denied by the oppositions defence and keeper and a shot from Jensen flew just wide of the post.
It was however, Silver End that took the lead for the first time in the game. A cross into the box saw their number 9 tap it in to put them in the lead just before the break. 1-2.
With the second half underway it was Silver End that started stronger with attempts at goal again just going wide. Back down the other end a great save by the opponents keeper stopped Logan levelling the score from a great cross in by Ryan.
It wasnt long before the Dragon's come back to level the score. A fine pass from Josh SB to Logan who ran the ball down the left wing. Logan took his chance and smashed in a screamer over the top of the keepers head, he had no chance! 2-2
With the score level both teams were working hard. Lot's of chances both ends with both keepers making great saves. A strong goal kick from Roo over to Logan who couldnt quite finish it and a great run from Gus up the right wing and crossed into the box saw it fly just inches from Harrison's feet.
With lots of chances back and fourth it was Silver End who again took the lead. A throw in that fell deep into the box was met by their striker. 2-3
It was not long before the Dragon's came back yet again. Brilliant play between Logan and Harrison saw a superb pass into Harrison from Logan who was able to finish it to bring the score level again. 3-3
End to end chances for both teams. Both teams working tirelessly to try and find that winning goal. Zach and Jensen trying to get the ball pushed forward.
Silver End yet again took the lead. Some mistakes at the back saw them take their chances and slotted it home. 3-4
Time was ticking but the Dragon's werent going to give up. They deserved to score another goal and thats exactly what they did.
A tussle between the Silver End keeper, defender and Harrison saw Harrison eventually come out on top and into the back of the net it went. The score was level yet again. 4-4
As time passed by both teams kept on working and trying to find that winning goal. Both had last ditch attempts go wide of the post.
The final whistle blew with the score ending 4-4. A brilliant game to witness. Lot's of good play back and fourth. The Dragon's undeservedly missing out on a winner.
