Torquespeed Falcons v Dragons

A difficult trip away to Torquespeed today on another artificial pitch. The Dragons were hoping to build on last weeks win over the Wasps.

From the off you could tell the opposition were a well drilled side, pressing us hard all over the pitch. Some very technically gifted players cutting the Dragons defence open, the scoreline being kept goaless by Pearcy's efforts in goal making several saves. In a funny first half the clock was ticking, Zack kept battling hard for the ball but the Dragons couldn't create any chances to score themselves. The home side found the net for 1-0, breaking Pearcy down in goal eventually and they added a second immediately from the restart. 2 quick goals is always a big blow for any side and the Dragons were struggling after that point. A long shot on half time guided with some wind assistance swerved beyond Pearcey's reach for 3-0 at half time.

Second half was much better from the Dragons, knocking the ball around better finding passes, and matching their markers in the individual battles. The hosts scored a well worked 4th and added the 5th to gloss the scoreline.

The Dragons tried hard, some days its hard to create anything and today that's what happened. Plenty of effort and determination, especially second half, but unfortunately no lady luck to help us with a goalscoring chance today, we'll keep working hard!
