A tough match today away vs Dunmow Rhodes Lions for the Dragons.

Another difficult start to the game saw the Dragons concede, with just 20 seconds on the clock, and in the blink of an eye find themselves 3-0 behind with barely 5 minutes played. You would expect looking at the final score that meant that the Dragons heads would drop and be in for a long morning game trying to stop the flow from Dunmow. However that wasn't the case and at 3-0 behind the Dragons really knuckled down determined not to give up. For the rest of the first half it was the Dragons knocking on the door, first Roo with a long drive then Logan twisting and turning before having his attempt blocked for a corner. That's how we got back into the game, straight from the training ground on Saturday, Josh SB delivered the in swinging corner to be met with power by Logan heading the ball hard past the keeper for 3-1. The Dragons were rallying and Josh SB turned from provider to scorer with a long distance strike high into the top corner on the stroke of half time.

3-2 and all to play for in the second half. The Dragons pressed forward unfortunately fouling an opposing defender deep in Dunmow's half. The free-kick was smashed forward and found the net for 4-2. A fifth for Dunmow followed soon after. The Dragons kept probing and trying to do what we have been doing in training, Zacks short corner for Jenson to strike was saved by the keeper as the Dragons searched for some reward for their perseverance. Sadly it was not to be today and Dunmow finished all hope adding a 6th goal.

A difficult result to take as I felt the scoreline flattered Dunmow somewhat but the encouraging signs were there that on a horrible, borderline dangerous pitch, the Dragons stuck to their game. We will try again next week!
