Sporting 77 Dragons v Great Notley Bears

Half term out the way and the sun was shining at the Dragons Den in Wethersfield. The stage was set, a beautiful day, for a Bear hunt!

We started strongly again this week putting Notley under pressure from the off forcing several early corners Kian, Conor and "Pit Bull" Ryan not giving the Bears any time on the ball. George was a bystander in the sunshine with little to do in his goal. Roo, Jenson and Rylee came on and picked up where the other 3 left off, dogged work rates keeping the pinned back untill we got our noses in front. A twist and a turn from Roo finishing with his left foot into the bottom corner. A big boot up pitch from the Bears defender which Angus misses losing it in the sunshine went through for their striker to equalise. Dragons weren't fazed and Roo cut inside and drove home immediately to put us back in front 2-1 at the break.

Second half we started brightly again Kian skipping past his maker and slamming us 3-1 in front - the with a bizarre celebration to follow ??! Our number 5 was at it again past 1 player before being hacked down (again!) Just outside the area. Kian stepped up and smashed the ball into the back of the net from the freekick to make it 4. Ryan was at the centre of a dubious penalty that wasn't given in the away fixture but in a carbon copy he was hacked down again the box and this time awarded the penalty. Ryan got up composed himself and dispatched it neatly into the corner leaving the goalkeeper no chance. Rylee got on the score sheet for his hard work today before the Bears nicked one back at 6-2. Lastly with the game ticking away the ball broke through to Ethan - everybody in Wethersfield praying for him to get a goal - with some quick feet he evaded the defender, rounded the goalkeeper and tucked it in! Everybody erupted hoping this is the confidence boost he needed!
