Stanway Rovers Fireflies v Fire Hawks

Today the girls traveled to Stanway to play against the fireflies. We knew this was going to be our biggest competition and that we were there’s. In the first half we had a lot of chances but unfortunately the ball didn’t reach the back of the net. Fireflies got the ball through our defence for the first time and scored with their first opportunity they had. A long range effort from Maddison brought the game back 1-1. Half time.
Second half see the fireflies come back very strong and wanting the win. With that determination in mind they took a 5-1 lead. You could see the frustration and disappointment in our girls faces but they didn’t stop battling, Abbie W bagged herself a goal! 5-2. They tried so hard to get it back and it just didn’t happen, they were tired. All the girls left nothing on the pitch. End result 6-2. We go again next week and learn from today.
